Speaking of oil painting, I think of those famous oil painting masters in the West, such as Van Gogh, Johannes Vermeer, Giovanni Bellini, Picasso, etc., celebrities who can civilize the world, and the value of his works need not be imagined. So the price of oil painting is really expensive.

Why are oil paintings generally expensive? Here are a few reasons why oil paintings may be expensive.

1. The birth of oil painting is inseparable from oil paints. The top oil paints and watercolor paints are all derived from natural materials, and some are precious stones. For example, lapis lazuli was more expensive than gold in those days, resulting in blue pigments especially precious.

2. The entire creation process of oil painting is very time-consuming and labor-intensive. First of all, the painter himself has to sketch from life to find the scenery that makes his heart move and then determine his own creative form. It makes oil paintings become heavier and heavier and more precious.

3. Not only the cost of oil painting but the beauty of color in oil painting cannot be expressed by other types of paintings, which is also one of the reasons why the price of oil painting is relatively high. The beauty of oil painting is mostly reflected in the color, brushstroke, light and shadow, scene, and other aspects of oil painting. Only by appreciating the beauty of oil painting can we truly understand the reason why oil painting is expensive.

4. The ever-changing brushstrokes, the unique brushstrokes are like the artist's unique DNA, making their works unique. For example, we can easily distinguish between Van Gogh, Monet, and Seurat by brush strokes. Either meticulous or bold, the agility and rhythm in the brushstrokes give the still images of oil paintings infinite language.
