Mural painting refers to the patterns painted on the walls or ceilings of buildings. It is divided into thick murals, painted murals and mounted murals. Mural painting is one of the oldest forms of painting. For example, in the primitive society, human beings depicted various figures on the cave walls to keep track of events, which is the earliest mural. Up to now, Egypt, India, Babylon, China and other ancient civilizations have preserved many ancient murals.

Modern murals can be divided into four categories:

1. Hand painting

Hand painting refers to the painting that is purely hand-painted, where the pattern is directly painted on a certain material and then pasted on the wall. The materials used in this kind of hand-painted painting can be divided into two categories: high-grade and ordinary. The high-grade ones are silk, gold foil, etc., and the common ones are rice paper.

2. Hand painting

Hand painting is a kind of painting in which the pattern is directly painted on the wall by the painter, and the special material is acrylic paint.

The modern street graffiti and interior decoration hand-painted murals were the first to appear, and their practices are somewhat similar to the first, except that their carriers are walls and do not pass through other materials.

The early outdoor graffiti murals had a small disadvantage. Because they were exposed to wind, rain and hot sun, their durability and color brightness were only a few years. But they were just street graffiti, and their requirements were low, so their quality was much lower than that of indoor murals. However, because the material used is different from other painting types, it is still the strongest in the industry on the whole. In the same environment, other pigments will fall off or completely change color in the hot sun and wind for up to half a year, losing their observability.

The main social role of hand-painted murals is still in the indoor direction. Because the indoor hand-painted murals are far away from wind, rain and scorching sun, and the pigments used are the most scientific, high-end and environment-friendly pigments in the world today - acrylic pigments, its life and fresh-keeping power directly explode all hand-painted peers. As long as your walls are not bad, paint interior murals with acrylic paint in the same environment, and the color preservation even exceeds that of all kinds of wall paintings protected by glass frames. Without man-made damage and deliberate environmental damage, it can even be said that it will never change color or fall off. The legendary oil paintings will change color and turn yellow at most two years.

3. Wall decal

It refers to the combination of different colors of ink into a pattern through computer drawing, then machine painting and engraving. It is a perfect embodiment of modern industry, which enhances production efficiency through the role of machines.

Wall decals and hand-painted paintings also have their similarities. They are a form of artistic expression by painting through a material medium, and then pasting the complete artwork onto the wall. The only difference is that one is manual painting, the other is machine painting, so the efficiency between the two can also be directly reflected, and wall decals can be said to adapt to the progress of the times, is the product of the times.

4. Decorative painting

Decorative paintings can be painted or printed to form the painting center, then stretched up with wooden strips or boards, or painted directly on the boards, and then directly hung on the walls.
