Step 1: Measure your space
Style design is the second, first of all, we must "calculate size and specifications." To save your time (and avoid unnecessary troubles), first plan out the space that can accommodate the new dining table. Measure the length and width of the space you plan. Then subtract 80-100 cm from the dimensions on each side. Why is this?
It is best to leave about 90 cm of space around the dining table to avoid crowded and uncomfortable dining environments. If the restaurant space is small or not just used as a restaurant, please consider buying a multifunctional design-such as a dining table that can be turned into a coffee table or table case.
Step 2: Shape fit
This is not a golden rule, but whether we like it or not, there are some table shapes that are more suitable for a restaurant with a specific shape.
The rule of thumb is:
-Square and round table tops are suitable for square dining rooms.
-But in a rectangular space, its appearance and feeling will appear awkward.
-Rectangular and oval tables are best for rectangular rooms.
-But in a square space, its appearance and feeling will appear awkward.
Step 3: Build the model
If you know the shape and size of the table but are still unsure, then this step may be helpful. Measure and mark the desktop size with a magazine on the ground. Then place the dining chairs in their standing posture. Pull out the seat. sit down. Walk around. Use this simple and low-cost trick to understand the interaction between you, the table, and the restaurant.
Step 4: How to use it?
Do you only sit around the dining table on weekends and dinners? Perhaps a retractable design that can save space in your free time will be more suitable for you. If your dining table is used frequently, perhaps twice as frequently as a desk, we would recommend a very durable tabletop material:
Choose heat-resistant and scratch-resistant ceramic; solid wood or glass-but choose super tough and scratch-resistant tempered glass. The veneer can be used for many years, provided that it is a thin solid wood veneer because the thick veneer can easily fall off over time.
Step 5: Choose colors carefully
Color is an important element of beautiful home furnishings. However, due to the long service life of the dining table, this means that it must be able to meet the styles of different themes. Basic shades of black, gray, brown, and white will never go out of style. No matter which colors you like this season, they can all be your background. Do you have scribbled toddlers or active pets in your home? If so, we recommend that you do not choose matte white and light-colored solid wood.
Step 6: Don't ignore the base
Although this may seem like an aesthetic decision, the new table base will affect how you use it. If you are a seat that often makes the most of a small table, then please choose a design with a base to prevent the diners’ knees from hitting the table legs. The base is also very suitable for saving space in small restaurants. A large tabletop can ensure ample space, but please use a solid frame to fix it. There is only one way to eliminate these deceptive design flaws...
Step 7: Fully... try it
Of course, we like online shopping very much, but for tables, it is recommended that you try them in the store yourself. Just like our situation, your family needs different sizes and spaces, so please bring them together. Sit down, stroke the tabletop, move the chair, try to stretch the board, and check for signs of wear. It may be one of the most labor-intensive tools in your home, so please...slowly...choose.
